After having cooperated together in landmark F&B projects, VOL and Kokaistudios re-joined to work on a challenging new project of conceiving an innovative Cantonese Fine Dining restaurant, a new product where the contemporary and trendy environment that is the signature of the VOL group meets the pure essence of the traditional Cantonese cuisine; a contemporary Chinese restaurants conceived for VOL’s sophisticated international clientele.
Located in the Wharf 1846 development in Shanghai with majestic views onto the Huangpu River and Pudong, the interior design has been conceived playing with the contrast between tradition and innovation like in a harmonious dance between yin and yang.
The name of the Restaurant is a shorthand for the restaurant’s concept: a balance of yin and yang and as well as the classic and the contemporary. That’s two Ys and two Cs; hence Y2C2.
Elegant and edgy at the same time, brings a new energy and freshness to Shanghai’s dining scene.
Kokaistudios is an award winning multi-disciplinary design firm founded in 2000 in Venice by Italian architects Filippo Gabbiani & Andrea Destefanis which for the past 10 years has been headquartered in Shanghai. To date the firm has completed over 140 projects in the fields of architecture, heritage architecture, and interior design including numerous international award winning projects.

If you would like to experience a very short gondola ride while in Venice , try crossing the Grand Canal by traghetto, a gondola capable of ferrying from one to fourteen passengers from one bank to the other.
You can enjoy the experience of being rowed across the Grand Canal from Santa Maria del Giglio to San Gregorio by two gondoliers for a couple of minutes for the cost of two euro ( June 2013). The service will run from 10 AM to 6 PM .
This boat will take you from the area of San Marco to the one of Zattere and Salute or vice versa.
During the celebration of the Madonna della Salute ( November 21th) this traghetto is replaced by a floating bridge to facilitate the continuous flow of the Venetians to the Church designed by Baldassarre Longhena dated 1631 circa .
Landed at San Gregorio you can’t miss the new Venetia Studium shop located in the former glass blowing furnace of Salviati in a very charming old building finely restored.
The shop will have on display a great selection of Fortuny ® lamps in silk and in glass, modern Fortuny ® floor lamps , and a vast assortment of Venetia Studium ® hand printed velvet cushions , wall-hangings and curtains .
From Venetia Studium shop you can turn left and walk towards Punta della Dogana, François Pinault Foundation and la Salute; if you will turn right Peggy Guggenheim will be just a short walk away.
To return to San Marco area you can take a Vaporetto – public motorboat – from la Salute or you can walk and cross the Grand Canal over the Accademia bridge unless you are willing to experience the traghetto crossing again .
